Keren Oro shel Hesed sees its activity in the community as a mission of hope and encouragement and a way to bring together the hearts of different groups and traditions under the spirit of Ahavat' Israel - as a One Loving Jewish Family.
The charity is not stopping at providing material support to those in need, but also making sure that they feel included and part of The Bigger Family - by providing to quite a large portion of the elderly population in the area spiritual and cultural support. Shortly before a Jewish festival is approaching - the charity organizes meetings and Shiurim, in which we sit around laid down tables, and study together various traditions related to that particular Jewish festival, so that we all share similar sentiments and values towards and during the festivities. The charity also provides the elderly community with Mezuzot, Tefilin, and to those who wish to study at their own homes - lessons on Jewish traditions.
Keren Oro shel Hesed started a new centre for borrowing medical & healing accessories for all those in need in the community. The new centre is situated at a convenient location at the town centre of Katazarin.
The charity medical accessories and equipments includes: Wheel-chairs, different type of Crutches, Inhalation and Steam Appliances, Oxygen Generators, and more. The public at large make good use of the facilities of this new centre.
Keren Oro shel Hesed is actively engaged in collecting from different sources food that was left over - simply because there was no need for it - from food factories, large hotels and guest houses, fruits & vegetables farms, and food packaging centres in the North of Israel. The charity organise youths and provide transport to collect agricultural products, and later on package it and deliver it to those in need in our community.
In this way, both sides benefit from the mutual act of giving and receiving - which is what Hesed is all about.
All the activities of the charity are done by volunteers and in accordance with the law and the charities regulations.
Keren Oro shel Hesed holds a Certificate of Proper Management. which was given to us by the Charities Regulator Department of Israel.
Keren Oro shel Hesed is well known by all the local social workers and their various organizations and is working closely with all of them.
